Serve rice cakes, spreads, cut up fruit, veggies and eggs separately and let everyone assemble their own “sandwiches”. My husband, Little Love and Tiny Love all enjoy rice cakes. I love coming up with different ways to enjoy them! All you need is some Sprouts Brand organic rice cakes on hand and a handful of exciting and delicious real food toppings. As you can see from the photos, I am showing you my favorite rice cake topping ideas but the possibilities are endless. Because I love the Raspberry & Nutella flavor combo, it does not mean you will love it too.

Get in your greens with arugula or spinach and tomato and mozzarella for a spin on the favorite Caprese salad. Rice cakes are made of puffed rice and are formed into individual cakes.

Try it with hummus for a dairy-free option. My kids love rice cakes and they enjoyed trying these new toppings. For the past couple of years I’ve been buying a brand of rice cakes that come from Poland. I like the multigrain ones; they’re thin and flavourful and this is an instance where the addition of salt really shines.

After that, top it off with protein and/or veggies. Some of my favorites are black olives, ground turkey, chopped spinach, mushrooms or peppers. Add bacon, lettuce, sliced tomato and cracked pepper for a delicious BLT option. Lower the calorie count with turkey bacon.

But on the weekend, you can whip up a batch of the dip and serve it with veggies and rice cakes for your family. It’s a great way to get more omega-3 fatty acids into your diet. Tahini is something a lot of people may not have heard of, but have probably eaten at some point. It’s ground up sesame seeds, and is one of the key ingredients in hummus. This is another way to add some healthy fat to the rice cake to keep you satisfied.
Healthy Baking
If I were really making it correctly, I'd add gravy on top. Have you ever met anyone who didn’t love Nutella? If you’re looking for something extra decadent, swipe some Nutella on your rice cake or add sliced strawberries.
Stores often stock varieties from fat free to 4% milk fat, so you have a range of options when making a selection. Toast it and spread on honey and peanut butter, put on banana slices, and top with some cinnamon --so satisfying. Caramelize sliced Spam in medium-heat frying pan with shoyu . While you are heating the Spam, fry an egg. Assemble in layers of rice cake, Spam, and fried egg.
Plain or flavored yogurt is perfect with sliced fruit. Add granola, shredded coconut, or chopped nuts to make it a more filling snack. A dollop of Greek yogurt can replace sour cream for Mexican-style rice cakes, too.
Start by soaking some sweet, almost caramel-like Medjool dates. The preparation time will vary dependent on what rice cake you choose to make. Some will take less than 3 minutes while other might take a little longer. Greek yogurt is a great way to add in protein , calcium , and probiotics . While we're on chocolate, you can make a S'more rice cake from the aforementioned Nutella. Still, even if you’re not dieting, these cakes make it easy to whip up a quick treat or an on-the-go snack.
It contains healthy fats and some fiber to keep you full and satisfied. Sweet or savory, you can make a package of rice cakes fit your changing tastes each day. Pair hummus with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta cheese for a Greek twist. Sliced turkey and a slice of cheddar with a dollop of mustard is a simple, easy snack. Replace the cheese with lettuce and top with avocado for a dairy-free option. Bacon, scrambled eggs, shredded cheese — breakfast on the go!
For a saltier flavor, try pistachios on top of cottage cheese or ricotta cheese. Cottage cheese with fruit and honey is always a winner. Replace the fruit with some tomatoes and cracked pepper for a savory option. Spreadable cheese is such a great, low-calorie option! Try it simply on its own or topped with your favorite vegetable. My personal favorite is sliced bell peppers.
More Snacks
My favorite rice cakes' brands are Lundberg and Quaker. I like brown rice or multigrain cakes for some extra fiber. Place cottage cheese on the rice cake and spread evenly using the back of a spoon.
